The online supplement to Black Book and a place dedicated to preserving blur's live history and researching their live recordings
I can't wait :)
I lied, I did it today instead!
Hi. I just wanted to say that I think what you're trying to achieve is very laudable! I'm especially interested in getting the best lossless versions of early Blur radio broadcasts. Most of the downloads here and on linked sites seem to be mp3 (though are neverthless very good to have!) My suggestion, for what it's worth, would be to put the best lossless versions of these shows up on Dimeadozen and then ask if anyone out there has better quality sources than you may have. This site is probably the biggest of such torrent sites, and seems to have a potentially huge reach amongst the kind of people who may be sitting on the kind of tapes you want to acquire. I for one would be very keen to get the best possible versions of, for example, the 1991 Rotterdam and Chicago Metro shows, plus any of the other 91-94 shows and radio sessions of potentially comparable quality. I posted a version of the Mineapolis First Avenue 92 show about 18 months ago which I'd got from a guy in Germany, and it would be great to see if a really top notch recording of that exists? I do have DAT master recordings of most or all of Blur's UK radio broadcasts from about 1994, and when I've finished my PhD I'll try to put them out there for wider consumption!
