  1. i think 98 is the more "non-show" show. is a totally alternate setlist. repetition, im just a killer for your love, essex dogs.. what a setlist!

  2. 1998. like gabriel said-alternate setlist. essex dogs, repetition, new song ( trailer park) and a kiss damon+graham (on doap)

  3. Yeah, '98 is definitely unique, both for the set list like you guys said, and the fact that they weren't touring at the time, it was literally a giant one-off show...it's certainly the most "alternative" and unique of their 4 appearances!

  4. For me, personally it has to be the performance in 1994. I saw them at Rock City that same year, they were brilliant!

I've always really liked Parklife. The album has a great feel to it.

    1994 it is!

  5. ^Yeah, if I had to choose just *one* it'd probably be 1994...it's just so legendary and they were at the peak of their powers for their early era

  6. Oh, that's a tricky one! Maybe I'll go with '98 because it was the first Blur Glasto performance I ever listened. And as you guys have said - the setlist was more eclectic/interesting compared to '94 and '09 performances. Essex Dogs is fantastic!

  7. Yes, Essex Dogs is amazing. Also, Repetition sounds miles better than the studio version (which I still like). The near riot during Country Sad Ballad Man is a little scary to listen to, though!

'94 and '09 were certainly the most "straight" of the performances in terms of no surprises in the set, even though they're great. And '92 was pure adrenaline and recklessness onstage...

  8. I love 98 because Essex Dogs is one of my favourite songs, great to hear it live. Also Repetition sounds great and is a rarity. Then there's the first playing of Trailerpark.

I also like 2009 a lot. I remember sitting there watching it on TV last year excited because I knew in a few days I'd be there at the July 3rd gig in Hyde Park!

  9. 2009 was amazing...to me, it's the top gig of 2009. I just hope we get the entire show someday to enjoy!

  10. It's 1992 all the way for me. I've had it on video for years (it's up on Blurcast now) & it's one of the most drunken/inspired performances of their career I reckon. "It's always almost with us..."

  11. Yeah, Hooligan, I think you shared the video with me and some others a year ago or so...many thanks for that! It is a legendary gig...Damon climbing up and hanging off of the light rigging...how he didn't fall and get killed is beyond me. Then he's shaking a beer can around during Day Upon Day, bodyslams the PA stacks, and breaks his bloody foot...amazing! The bit in Starshaped when he's howling, limping to sit against the van after it, is priceless...
