I'm planning on recording this. Be patient, it'll be tomorrow morning sometime before it'll be ready for you all but I know you can wait (or can you?).
UPDATE: Turns out they didn't stream it...it was filmed for a "possible documentary." Wonder what that's all about...?
Wow! Hope we get another DVD after these shows...it would be great. No idea, not even with all of your connections? Cheers!
ReplyDeleteIt was for a Converse documentary, so at best it seems we'd only get a song or two of Blur mixed in with all of the other bands. Hopefully the entire show will leak out eventually, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteThe Plymouth show is up on dimeadozen! Can't download it now but the quality looks ok.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up, downloading right now! I check Dime every day but I just woke up so hadn't looked yet today, thanks for the tip ;-).
ReplyDeleteGreat news about the Parklive set, looking forward to hearing the 100 club gig. Though i'm a little dissapointed they didn't change the set around a bit more in the war up shows. Their ain't gonna be many different songs on the third disc. I also hope the sound'll be better than all the people did. Are you planning to upload the plymouth gig here in the future? Torrents taking forever to download it's suck at 0.3% :( On another topic is the studio amstel and vpro studios gigs the same? I have a copy of each and the introductions to songs are different and setlists are slightly different.
ReplyDeleteI'm also excited about the Parklive set but not thrilled have to spend more money so soon after the box set. Since it's not released until November, I'm going to wait to order it to save money up and put some time between then and now. I agree with you on the setlists, though, it seemed they'd add more rarities and mix it up a bit but they've pretty much stayed static. Ah, well.
ReplyDeleteI can toss th Plymouth gig up later when I get a change to sit down at the computer for an extended period. Also, those two gigs you mention...let me check and get back to you but as far as I can remember, they're different gigs, but I don't want to say for sure until I check :-)
Cheers! Both of them were on the 25th of Febuary if my dates are correct thats why i though they may be the same show. I wonder if it's emi decision to put so much stuff out or the bands seems rather a lot in the space of 5 months given the prices of both boxsets and if you include japanese bonuses and vinyls as well. I wonder if Emi want to make as much out of them because they know its the end or if the band want reduce the fans appetiete for new material. Either way i'm still happy to have all this stuff given after Think Tank no one expected them to work together again. Great times for blur fans!
ReplyDeleteYes, I have 2/25/99 at VPRO in Amsterdam...they played shows in Germany days before that one...maybe that's the other gig you have? (I can't know for sure without hearing your tape to compare).
ReplyDeleteMy gut tells me this is the end of Blur, I hope it's not but I think it probably is, and that it's EMI's way to cash-in (not to sound so crass about it) before it all dies down. I'm with you, though, I'm happy to have it either way!
So the vrpo gig is the amstel one then. The one i have labelled vrpo i got on soulseek but damon is clearly speaking in German at times so i think it probably is one of the Cologne shows thats been mislabelled.
ReplyDeleteI guess we have to respect their decision whatever happens in the future. Its difficult to read Damon though, he said recently the won't play any gigs in the UK for a while but that suggests they may play elsewhere possibly Asia/America.
I do know they had (loosely) planned some US dates this year but it got scuttled after the blowout with Orbit. Not sure why that precipitated axing the dates, but that's what I heard through legit channels. Ah, well, whatever they do is fine with me, as you said we've got to respect it.
